Q: Do I need any pre-course study to enrol in this course?
A: Yes – there is an online learning component that takes approximately 3.5 hours to complete. This will give you the opportunity to learn at your own pace and complete assessments prior to attending the face-to-face session.
Q: Are there any age restrictions on participating in the course?
A: Yes – individuals who wish to enrol in the course must be at least 14 years of age. If they are between 14 and 17 years old, a signed consent form from their parent or guardian is needed before they can attend class and fulfil all theoretical and practical components of the program.
Q: What physical abilities are required for successful completion of the course?
A: To successfully complete this course, you must possess literacy skills required to read and understand legal signs as well as instructions for using supplies related to first aid response such as protective face shields or Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs). You must also have the ability to generate a comprehensive Incident Report in the workplace; quickly and accurately do computations concerning chest compressions frequency/rescue breathing rate; articulate information clearly & accurately; and perform at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted single rescuer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) (5 cycles of both compressions & breaths) on an adult/infant resuscitation manikin placed on a firm surface. To get a first aid certificate in Queensland, you will need to complete an approved Provide First Aid Course. During the course, you'll learn essential skills needed to respond effectively in emergency situations and will receive an assessment of both theoretical and practical components. Upon completion of the course, you’ll be awarded with a nationally recognised first aid certificate by a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
Q: How long does a first aid certificate last Qld?
A first aid certificate in Queensland is valid for 3 years.
To ensure your certification is up to date, you must renew the CPR component every year. Your Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certificate is valid for 1 year as per Australian Resuscitation Council Guidelines.
After the expiry date, you will need to take a Refresher Course or Reassessment to renew your qualification.

A: No, an online first aid certification will NOT receive an ASQA accredited Provide First Aid HLTAID003 Statement of Attainment, and is only a certificate of completion.
Being an online course, it only provides theoretical knowledge and lacks exercises to help you gain mastery over First Aid and CPR skills. Plus, there are no practical assessments included.
